Vivienne Westwood Children's Shoes
I should probably mention that Vivienne Westwood do children's shoes. They're super sweet and just mini versions of their 'Melissa' collaborations!!
Why I think Childrenswear may work for VW
It is pretty much one of the only extensions they haven't developed. Womenswear, Menswear, Shoes, Jewellery, Handbags and Perfume are amongst the things that VW does at the moment. I think childrenswear could be cute!!! The prince charming tshirt (see below) remind me of children's scribbles and it's inspired me to rework the Vivienne Westwood emblem! I'll try it out and see if it looks good enough to upload...
An Unedited Version- please ignore the talking at the end
This is my advert's unedited version. This is the only video I'm going to post as I'd like to compare this to the edited version! Enjoy- and ignore the talking
My Video
The overall jist of my video is cute children in the garden of Eden playing. They are picking up red apples and generally there is an aura of peace and tranquility. Along comes the childlike version of Vivienne Westwood and totally shakes things up!! I will post unedited footage asap
Other Designer Childrenswear
Armani Junior
Hugo BOSS Kidswear
D&G
Stella McCartney
Ralph Lauren
Fendi
This just goes to show that a brand extension like childrenswear is marketable, profitable and reasonable!!!

PUNK
"Westwood was deeply interested by the punk fashion phenomenon of the 1970s, saying "I was messianic about punk, seeing if one could put a spoke in the system in some way". Westwood still owns this shop, which is now known as World's End, from which she sells the World's End label
The "punk style" included BDSM fashion, bondage wear, safety pins, razor blades, bicycle or lavatory chains on clothing and spiked dog collars for jewelry, as well as outrageous make-up and hair. Essential design elements include the adoption of traditional elements of Scottish design such as tartan fabric. Amongst the more unusual elements of her style is the use of historical 17th and 18th century cloth cutting principles, and reinterpreting these in, for instance, radical cutting lines to men's trousers. Use of these traditional elements make the overall effect of her designs more shocking.
Westwood and McLaren worked together to revolutionise fashion and their impact is still strongly felt today."
My Idea for my FMP
We have to create an extension or brand stretch. I've chosen Vivienne Westwood, and my focus is going to childrenswear. I have completed all my initial research, and I have filmed my advert already! It is already half completed and I am going to finish editing it on Sunday 22nd May! I have wrote around 2000 words on my essay, so I am well on my way and I'm really enjoying this project so far!
